MAME: I plug my gun to play and unplug it when done. (try it, enter Input (This Game) and try to map all gun buttons, it won’t work). Sometimes it is start, sometimes A sometimes B button, sometimes select button. Randomly, one of the buttons is unmappable. The biggest issue I face is button mapping.

I know there’s a way to fine tune that by entering those magic values, but a guide on how to do that will be appreciated.Ģ.

Precision: no matter how hard I try callibrating, the gun is imprecise away from center of the screen and is especially bad near corners. There are couple of problems I encounter with both this driver and official driver for XP:ġ. That’s not such a big issue, because there are plenty of other drivers that need it anyway. On a related side note, how is the performance of MAME on the Xbox? My 1.2ghz ARM quad-core Raspberry Pi 3 struggles with many 3D MAME games (I believe because it's doing everything in the hardware since it doesn't really have a proper graphics card). The driver works great! I didn't notice any differences between how it works on 32bit XP and Win7 64bit. I really want to confirm that I can use these Xbox light guns, on a CRT TV, before I do something drastic like TSOP modding my Xbox (which I have NO other reason to mod it besides getting these MAME light gun games to work). So when beeja75 says a USB lightgun works fine on MAME on an Xbox (which to be honest, hardware-wise the Xbox is pretty much a PC computer.and which I would bet CoinOPS uses a variant of the PC MAME emulating software too -totally assuming here FYI-), it makes sense a USB lightgun would work in this situation.īUT, for the Xbox's light guns, where there is no PC drivers available.I wonder if it'll still work the same way.Ĭan anybody else chime in this is the case? I want to stay away from USB light guns with IR sensors/sensor bars due to the sheer number of people having problems with their accuracy. Most people say when they run MAME on real desktop PC, with USB lightguns (with the proper Windows drivers) they work great.

IIRC, MAME and X-Box light gun support works fine, console light gun support needs further tweaking, as BP wasn't able to get the gun that ToniHC sent him working with his setup.

If the EMS TopGun III works in MAME, then the Mad Catz or any other X-Box compatible Light Gun will work. Maverick1978 wrote:Light gun is a light gun.
